More manly machines

This is from the same photoshoot as the Gravel Truck and the Oldish Truck. These loaders are a bit dirty from work and not so shiny. Still they make a nice HDR topic.

Alvar Aalto Lamps
Posted by
JK
These are some lamps in the yard of Lakeuden Risti church. This is architecture by famous finnish Alvar Aalto. There is a full center of buildings designed by him. All of them are located on a small area and that is why it is called the Alvar Aalto Center. There is a church, library, town hall, theater and a government office building.

This is again from kyrkösjärvi. At last I had some time to go out with the camera at sunset. Red sunset sky and calm water make a nice mix. Now we have some colors :-)

Gravel truck
Posted by
JK
Yesterday I posted a "classic" gasoline truck. Well here we have a modern gravel truck. There were a few of these parked side by side near Routakallio, a gravel quarry. By the way, Routakallio should become a significant recreation area after the quarry finishes in a few years.

Oldish truck - Kesoil
Posted by
JK
Kesoil is a gas station brand that hasn't existed for at least 15 years. I'm not sure, but i think this elderly truck serves as a gasoline tank for machines of the quarry behind it.

Rauhaniemi

This is a guest blog post from Akseli Niemelä
Rauhaniemi beach and public sauna is a popular place to spend time among the people of Tampere. It is located two kilometres from downtown and for those who don't walk there's a regular bus connection. In wintertime there's ice-swimming and in Summer a typical sand beach and also a rocky beach with a little diving platform. Water depth is only 3 metres below the platform so one should take care when diving there.
I think my friend who used to frequent the beach knew this since he never hurt himself. When I was there a fellow bird photographer was present checking out mergansers so one can check winged fellas at Rauhaniemi also.
About the guest poster: Akseli Niemelä is a hobbyist Finnish photographer with interest in HDR photography. You can see more of his work on his photo blog.
